Creating is my passion.

My background in graphic design plays a prominent role in my painting today. I have a fascination with typography, symbols of communication, numbers, and I gain inspiration from accounting ledgers, maps, vintage papers, road signs, conceptual design, textile patterns, deteriorating buildings, vintage advertising… 

I often experiment and combine different materials and tools for unexpected, uncontrollable, imperfect results: machine-stitched thread, acrylics, vintage office papers, used sandpaper, disassembled tea bags, typewriter scraps…With this combination of tools and materials I strive to create textures mimicking an aged, well-lived, well-loved ground.

I have a full-time job as a studio artist for the advertising agency,
Wieden + Kennedy. In addition to working, I enjoy double dutch jump-roping, listening to dialect recordings, and stitching gum wrapper curtains.
